The system fee and the parents' contribution

How FAMNET is paid for: either the school pays a term/annual system fee, or each parent pays a yearly contribution (TZS 3,500 per student) when viewing results.

Updated 06/10/2026

Option A — parents pay the contribution (default)

Each student's parent pays a system contribution of TZS 3,500 per year the first time they open results in the Parents area (mobile money: Airtel, Tigo/Yas, Halotel, M-Pesa via ClickPesa). After paying, results open immediately and stay open for the year. The school pays nothing. Rule: at least 70% of students must have paid within 6 months of registration, otherwise the school is asked to move to Option B. Follow the progress at Admin Settings › Contribution Settings (students paid, expected, collected, risk status).

Option B — the school pays a system fee

Set Admin Settings › Contribution Settings to School. Then Admin Settings › Make Payment: choose the period (TERM or ANNUAL), see the amount + VAT, and pay by M-Pesa Lipa Namba 4350411 (name: ONESTORE TECHNOLOGIES COMPANY LIMITED): dial *150*00# → 4 Lipa kwa M-Pesa → 1 Weka Lipa Namba → 4350411 → amount → PIN. Then enter the Transaction ID from the M-Pesa message under Confirm Payments; approval arrives by SMS within minutes. Print receipts at Admin Settings › Print Receipts.

When a system fee is overdue you first see “Warning: System Fee Awaiting Payment” (some services pause), then “Service Suspended”. Paying reactivates the account automatically.

Other paid extras: SMS bundles (TZS 35 per SMS) and your own WhatsApp number (TZS 10,000/month). WhatsApp from the shared FAMNET number is free.
