Result notifications, fee receipts, debt reminders and announcements now go to parents on WhatsApp first. Messages have no character limit and cost the school nothing — up to 500 a day per school from the shared FAMNET number. If a parent's number is not on WhatsApp, the same message goes by SMS from the school's credit.
Schools that want parents to see their own number can subscribe (TZS 10,000/month, 2,000 messages/day) and link the school phone by scanning a QR code in Admin Settings. How to set it up.
